I've scoured many sources since I lost my "Live! Tonight! Sold-Out!" DVD, but I have finally blended the bass and drums into this epic, live moment of Dive in Rio De Janeiro, 23-01-1993. UPDATE: I forgot about three gaps/skips around 1:52 that I had corrected before exporting. I am re-adjusting the audio the video and hope you enjoy.

Roger's voice sounds so more mature and mannish that his age at the time. The instrumental part still need some afjudtment, but Keirh Moon's armageddon approach to hisdrumkits is already there. Pete Sounded more distorted tah anyone else (and steve Marriot was probably in the audience, because He replicated the same exact sound in the Small Faces' debut). John plays solidly and gives the backbone, maybe the most mature -soundwise- of them all. Now I understand how Live at Leed's "Young Man Bluees" version could be s devastating, they perfpomed it since 1964 !
i love your break down and indeed, i need to go back to my FLAC files and video sources to try and not just string these together, but make them a more "cohesive" unit that can be enjoyed... a bootleg before bootlegs, honestly!!!

its not even about skill at this point . its about dynamic. something most bands lack is just cause you can play it dont mean you should. listen to aneurysm and how kurt starts the beat, then the drums and bass keep the beat while he unclogs an artery with his guitar! everything is blood and love related. thats poetry and dynamic. the punk break in the middle with that chord scramble is perfect. i can picture an old woman zoning out in a chair with intensity, letting old age soak everything. every song has its own palette of scenery and dynamic. i bet kurt avoided having two songs sound the same at all costs.
What the fuck. I have never heard this in my life, and I am a huge Nirvana fan. I had no clue they recorded this Beatles esk, acoustic version of All Apologies. I am so confused right now. 😭

yep! they did a lot of practice recording, like even for I Hate Myself and Want To Die, which had some nuanced chords or differences from what we all know today

I lost the comment, but someone asked if @23:41 if Kurt was hitting the pedal. I thought it may have been a pre-recorded track, BUT looking at the WAV/FLAC, I can say Kurt WAS indeed switching the pedal between clean and distorted. There are 0 indications there was another track over the "back and forth" between clean and distorted.

Great question! So, yep -- the guitar & drums are different due to them being taken from the guide track/pre production session. I may be mistaken, but Krist's bass may have come from the "final recording" -- I'd have to look back at my mixing files. Notice the drums are a little more ballsy/loose. I had to alter the speed of the vocals (taken from the final version recorded) to fit the cadence/meter of this guide/pre production track. I dunno - I did my best at the time and I rather like the alternate guitar and drums with Krist's bass EQ'd up a little bit. Basically the track is a composite of pre-production & Kurt's production vocals chopped up and SLIGHTLY sped down. Thanks!

@@jq.guitars Great question! So, I'm in my 40s. Some tracks/songs/etc were given to me (way back in the day) on cassette or DAT. I converted those to digital in the early 2000s. With the advent of FILE SHARING (Napster), some Nirvana bootlegs got passed around. Some tracks I even found on UA-cam and stripped the MP3/MP4s out. It is a mixed bag over 20+ years of stuff I have lying around, but yeah -- I'd record my old friend's band and they'd pay me in beer, Nirvana bootlegs, etc or I would stumble across isolated tracks on the Internet back in the day!
@@jq.guitars Looks like I replied outside of your question. My bad! What stinks is that I have a fifth mix of this from 2020 (even my Dad loves it), BUT .... UA-cam won't let me make it public. It is only fair as I don't "own" any of these tracks. I will try and find a way to get it online - dropbox or something. It's in MP3 format, which sucks, because I lost the FLAC (flawless audio) mix.
